Ongoing Events

Men's Breakfast, Second Saturdays, 8 AM, led by intern Matt Keadle. The group is currently reading Michael Chabon’s Manhood for Amateurs.

Garden Work Day, Second Saturdays, 9ish to noon. Volunteers tend SJU's meditation garden of native plantings and the vegie beds where we grow food for the soup kitchens at SJU.

SJU 2030 (Young Adults)
Theology Pub
: Talk about God stuff over local brew.  This summer St John United will join with the Church of the Apostles to host a series of gatherings in North Seattle pubs to puzzle together over all sorts of God-questions.  All are welcome!  No theological training required!  Come for good conversation, good brew and good fellowship.  Contact office@stjohnunited.org or theologypub@apostleschurch.org for more info.

Women's Fellowship, Third Thursdays, held in private homes; contact SJU office for details.

Fabric Fantasy, Tuesdays, 9:30 AM. This group sews quilt to be distributed by Lutheran World Relief. Help needed, no experience required. An opportunity to learn how to sew!

June 5, Heather Lake, 4 miles RT/800 ft.  Beautiful lake on the Mountain Loop.
July 24,
Bridal Veil Falls, 4 miles RT/1000 ft.  Near Index on Highway 2.  Hard core hikers can continue to Lake Serene, 7 mi RT.
August 21, Little Si, 5 miles RT/1500 ft.  Near North Bend on I-90.
September 25, Lake Twenty-two, 5.5 miles RT/1300 ft.  Another great Mountain Loop lake, plus waterfalls on the route.
October 2, Wallace Falls, 5 miles/900 ft.  Near Gold Bar on Highway 2.

First Sunday cash and food donation for Northwest Harvest. Donations are also welcome any Sunday of the month; bring donations to Coordinator Meridee Johansen.)

Simplicity Circle, Mondays, 7–9 pm, main floor lounge. A neighborhood group of people interested in sustainability, simplicity, community, slowing down and enjoying life more. All are welcome. Sponsored by the Phinney Ecovillage.
